Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi by flight in the evening.

Delhi is the capital of India- the largest democratic and 2nd most populous country in the world and the city has seen its rise and fall several times. New Delhi is the 8th city built by British. Delhi is famous for its beautiful monuments built by different emperors, which can be seen during the city tour.

You will be well received on your arrival at the Delhi airport and transfer to hotel. 
After check- in formality, you will check in to the room.
Overnight in Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for full day city tour of Old Delhi (in the morning) & New Delhi (in the afternoon).

The city of Delhi can be divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi.

Old Delhi was earlier ruled by Muslim Sultans for about 700years and later, it became the capital of the Mughal Empire between 17th & 19th centuries. Whereas New Delhi is an imperial and modern city, built by British, when they decided to move their capital from Calcutta in 1911.

The sightseeing of Old Delhi includes a visit to Jama Masjid- India's largest mosque, Red Fort- constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Rajghat- cremation site of father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi and finally enjoy the rickshaw ride through the old streets of Chandni Chawk, the busiest market of Old Delhi.

Sightseeing of New Delhi includes a visit to India Gate- built in memory of Indian soldiers killed during the First World War. Rashtrapati Bhawan (from outside)- built in the early 20th century as the Imperial residence of the Viceroy, today the official residence of the President of India. Parliament House- an unique circular building with huge colonnades, which houses the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament. Humayun's Tomb- is the first Mughal garden tomb, which looks like the famous Taj Mahal and finally Qutab Minar- one of Delhi’s most striking monuments, which is the world's tallest brick minaret with a height of 72.5 meters.

Day 03: Delhi/ Jaipur (260Kms & 5hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Jaipur.

Jaipur or the Pink City was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1693-1743) and is the capital city of the state of Rajasthan. Jaipur is surrounded by hills and the beautiful forts. Jaipur with Agra and Delhi has made a circuit, which is called India’s Golden Triangle- the most popular tourist destinations in India.  Jaipur is a planned city built according to the ancient Hindu treatise “Vastu Sashtra”. The orderly bazaars of the old town are ranked among the most vibrant in Asia. Jaipur is the perfect place to shop for Handicrafts, antiques, jewelry, gems, pottery, carpets, textiles, metalwork and leather ware. Jaipur is renowned for hand- dyed and embroidered textiles, Handicrafts, antiques, pottery, carpets, jewellery and the best selection of precious stones and metals in India.

Arrive Jaipur and check into your hotel.

In the afternoon, proceed to visit the Pink City of Jaipur, visiting City Palace, built between 1728- 1732, it occupies the center of Jaipur and is surrounded by high walls. The important buildings within the Palace are textile and the costume museum, armory museum, Diwan-I-Khas and Diwan-I-am. Jantar Mantar is the largest stone observatory in the World and one of the five astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh in India.

On the way back to hotel, stop for photo clicks at the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of the Winds, which is Jaipur’s most famous building was built for the ladies of the harem.;

Day 04: Jaipur 
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Amber Fort, the ancient capital of Jaipur.

Amber Fort is built on the crest of a rocky hill behind the Maota Lake in the outskirt of Jaipur. Amber was the capital of the Kuchwaha rajputs from 1037- 1728. Ascend the Fort on elephant back (subject to availability). Amber Fort has a magnificent Palace compound. One can enter the Palace complex through Suraj Pole (Sun Gate) and step into Jaleb Chowk, where one can have elephant ride. Singh Pole (Lion Gate) give the access to the palaces. Diwan- i- Am (public Audience), Ganesh Pole, Sheesh Mahal, Jas Mandir (temple), Sukh Mahal and the Palace of Mansingh I are worth visiting.

In the afternoon free for shopping.
OR you can visit Sanganer village in the outskirt of Jaipur, which is famous for handmade paper industry and textile printing. The crafts created in this town are really unique and that is the reason, they are not only loved by Indians as well as by foreigners. 
Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 05: Jaipur/ Agra (230Kms & 5-6hrs drive)
After early breakfast at hotel, drive to Agra.

On the way, visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and Fatehpur Sikri (17kms further from Bharatpur).

The Keoladeo Ghana National Park or Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in Rajasthan is a famous Bird sanctuary that witness thousands of rare and highly endangered birds such as the Siberian Crane come here during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to have made this National Park their home. It was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971 and it is also a World Heritage Site.

Fatehpur Sikri, was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar between 1569- 1585, when he shifted his capital from Agra. But after a few years, the water supply was incapable of sustaining the population and the capital was shifted back to Agra. Now it is a deserted city and also called a ghost city but it is perfectly preserved. Akbar was a very tolerant ruler and the buildings at Fatehpur Sikri blended both Islamic and Hindu architecture. One of the buildings even reflects the new religion or faith founded by Akbar’- “Din-e-ilahi”, which was very short-lived. He abolished much hated poll- tax on non- muslims (Jizya) and was the first Mughal ruler to marry a Hindu (Rajut princess from Jaipur). It is a beautiful palace complex with Hindu and Muslim artistic buildings. You can visit Birbal’s Palace (Hindu building), Jodhbai’s Palace (Hindu building), Jami Masjid, Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti and Buland Darwaza etc. Buland Darwaza is also called “Gate of Magnificence’. It is the highest gateway in the world. One has to climb 42 steps to reach this gateway, which is 40mtr high and 35mtr wide. 

Continue drive towards Agra.

Agra is famous for world’s most beautiful monument of love- Taj Mahal. The history of Agra is much older than the times of Mughals but during the Mughal Empire, Agra had become one of the great centers of art, culture, learning and commerce. All the great monuments with magnificent work of art and craft are still flourishing in the city including leather work and pietra dura marble-inlay work. Agra is famous for its marble work like tabletops, vases and trays, inlaid with semi precious stones or gems in ornate floral designs, an imitation of those found in the Taj Mahal. Agra is also an excellent place to buy leather, as it exports shoes, bags, briefcases and jackets.

Arrive Agra and check in to your hotel.

In the afternoon, proceed for city tour of Agra, visiting the massive Agra Fort- constructed out of red sand stone by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and containing the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Itmad-ud daulah, one of the most beautiful of Mughal tombs, stands across the river Yamuna. And finally the world famous Taj Mahal, which was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the mausoleum of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal, after her death in 1631. The Taj Mahal is recognized worldwide as a symbol of eternal love. Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.
Overnight in Agra.

Day 06: Agra/Gwalior (120Kms & 3hrs drive)
OPTION: Wake up early in the morning to visit Taj Mahal at sunrise (an extra cost).
Return to hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Gwalior.

OR You will be transferred to Agra railway station to board Shatabdi Express (08h17/ 09h36) to Gwalior.
(Breakfast will be served on board by Indian Railways).

Gwalior, a beautiful city located in the state of Madhya Pradesh is the site of one the India’s most magnificent hilltop forts. It is the largest city in the northern Madhya Pradesh. It has been remained a powerful center in the past for a number of North India’s historic empires. There are a number of historical monuments, which are the major tourist attractions in Gwalior. Among all these, the most important monument is the Gwalior Fort, which is located in the middle of the city along with mosques, mausoleum, tombs, palaces & temples.

Arrive Gwalior and check into your hotel.

In the afternoon, proceed for city tour of Gwalior, visiting the massive Gwalior Fort- built in the 8th century by the Rajputs. It has had a great history ruled by the Delhi Sultans, then by Mughals, then by Maratha, then by Scindias and finally by the British. The highlights inside the Gwalior Fort are- Raja Man Singh’s Man Mandir palace, British Barrack buildings, the Teli ka Mandir and the 9th century temple built in Dravidian form is believed to be the oldest in the fort. You can also visit tomb of great musician Tansen. This is the memorial built to commemorate Tansen, the great musician and one of the nine gems of Akbar’s court. The annual Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, a world-renowned music festival in is celebrated November- December every year. Other place to visit is, the Jai Vilas Palace; part of the Palace is the present Maharaja of Scindia’s residence and some 35 rooms house the Scindia Museum. Inside the extraordinary Durbar Hall hanging two of the world’s largest chandeliers each weighing 3.5 tons and it is alleged that the strength of the roof was tested with the weight of 8 elephants. The impressive Palace building was built in the late 19th century resembles an Italian palazzo using painted sandstone to imitate marble. 
Overnight in Gwalior. 

Day 07: Gwalior/ Jhansi/ Jhansi/ Orchha (118Kms 2-3hrs drive) & Orchha/Khajuraho (175kms & 4-5hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Khajuraho via Orchha.

OR you will be transferred to Gwalior railway station to board Shatabdi Express (09h39/ 10h48) for Jhansi.
(Tea, Coffee, mineral water and Indian snacks will be served on board by Indian railways).

You will be met upon your arrival at Jhansi railway station and drive towards Khajuraho (170kms & 4-5hrs drive).

On the way visit Orchha (17kms from Jhansi). 

Orchha, 18Kms from Jhansi railway station is a grand town, founded in 16th century by Rudra Pratap, a Bundela chieftain. He made Orchha his capital because of its landscape and moreover it was situated on the Banks of Betwa River. This medieval town was a former capital of Bundela rajas and remained an architectural gem. There are many beautiful monuments including palaces and temples reflecting grand old beauty of that time.

Arrive Orchha and proceed to visit the Fort Complex, which has three grand palaces very near to each other. One of three palaces is Jehangir Mahal constructed by Raja Bir Singh during the 17th century marking the visit of Mughal Emperor Jehangir. Also visit Ram Raja temple, Chaturbhuj temple and Laxminarayan Temple. The interiors of the temples contain the most exquisite of Orchha's wall paintings.

Continue drive towards Khajuraho. 

Khajuraho is a beautiful town located in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh and is very famous for groups of Hindu and Jain temples. Khajuraho is more popular for its erotic sculpture carvings, which were built between 10th and 11thcenturies AD as the greatest architectural achievement of the Chandela dynasty. Khajuraho has the Vindhya range of mountains as its beautiful backdrop. These temples are a UNESCO World Heritage site for their architectural beauty and this has made Khajuraho a more fascinating destination.

Arrive Khajuraho and check in to your hotel.

In the evening, enjoy the “Sound & Light Show” in the grounds of Western group of temples.

Day 08: Khajuraho/ Varanasi- Fly 
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for city tour of Khajuraho, visiting the Eastern & Western group of temples.

Khajuraho is famous for its imperial temples. The temples were built by the rulers of Chandela dynasty between 10th and 11thcentury. The construction of the temple just took around 100 years to complete. There were around 85 temples in the area but only 22 temples exist now. Kandariya Mahadev temple was built between 1025- 1050 AD is the largest and most imposing temple of the Western Group. It is specially popular for its erotic sculptures carved on the walls.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to airport to board flight for Varanasi. 

Varanasi is one of the oldest town and most important pilgrimage centre for Hindus in India. It has been a religious capital of Hinduism since the time immemorial. Situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges, Varanasi has been a center of learning and civilization for more than 2,000 years. Known to the devout as Kashi, the Luminous- the city of light, founded by Lord Shiva- Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Anyone, who dies in Varanasi attains instant “moksha” or enlightenment. Old age come here to seek refuge or to live out their final days. Varanasi is amongst the holiest of all tirthas (pilgrimages).

Arrive Varanasi and transfer to your hotel.

Arrive Hotel and check into your room. 
In the evening, you will be taken to the “ghat” or bank of river Ganga to witness the evening “Aarti” of river Ganga.
Overnight in Varanasi. 

Day 09: Varanasi
Wake up Early in the morning and proceed for boat ride on the holy river Ganges to see the bathing Ghats, people taking holy bath in the river Ganges, Brahmin priest offering Puja to river Ganges, people doing meditation and Yoga. Hindus regard the Ganges as “Amrita”- the elixir of life, which brings purity to the living and salvation to the dead. The life on the Ghats bound to an endless rituals. One can also observe cremations “burning of dead bodies” by the bank of river Ganges. Ganga water is so pure that one can keep it for months without any bacteria.

Later, disembark from the boat and walk through the narrow ghats to see the old temples of Varanasi.
Return to the hotel for breakfast.

Later, proceed to city tour, visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple, is the most important religious site in the city- dedicated to Lord Shiva. Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman- theMonkey God. Sankat Mochan in Hindi means reliverer from troubles. Bharat Mata Temple is dedicated to ‘Mother India’. It was inaugurated by none other than Mahatama Gandhi- the ‘Father of the Nation’ in 1936.

In the afternoon, visit Sarnath.
Sarnath is one of the most popular Buddhist pilgrim centre. It is located 10Kms north of Varanasi. It is a very religious and cultural place for Buddhists. Lord Buddha preached his first sermon here (after gaining Enlightenment at Bodh Gaya) before his five disciples 2500 years ago. This first sermon was called Dharmachakrapravartana or Turning of the Wheel of Law. It is also birth place of the 11th Jain Tirthankar Shreyans Nathji. There is one Shiva Temple also. So Sarnath is a place of Inter religious faith.
Overnight in Varanasi. 

Day 10: Varanasi/ Delhi- Fly & Delhi/ Fly Back Home
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Ramnagar Fort, which is situated on the opposite bank of river Ganga. It is the ancestral home of the Maharaja of Banaras. Maharaja Balwant Singh built this fort-palace in the 18th century. The fort was built in red sandstone. The current Maharaj lives here. If the flag is up that means the Maharaja is present in the palace. The Ramnagar fort houses a museum displaying the Royal collection which includes vintage Cars, Royal palkies, an armory of swords and old guns, ivory work and antique clocks is worth visiting.

Later, you will be transferred to Varanasi airport to board your flight to Delhi.
