CHARDHAM YATRA in UTTARAKHAND is starting from 12th May 2024 onwards and The Best Time to do this Holy Pilgrimage is- From 12st May- 15th June 2024 & again From 10th September - 20th October 2024

Chardham Yatra (Pilgrimage) is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage consisting of four shrines named as Gangotri, yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand. It is believed that these holy shrines were established by the great saint "Sri Adi Shankracharya" during the 8th Century.

The Kapat (Door) Opening & closing Dates of Chardham Shrines in 2020:

Yamunotri Temple:  The Kapat of Shri Yamunotri Temple will open on 10th May 2024 & close on 31th October 2024
Gangotri Temple: The Kapat of Shri Gangotri Temple will open on 10th May 2024 & close on 2nd November 2024
Kedarnath Temple: The Kapat of Shri Kedarnath Temple will open on 10th May 2024 & close on 2nd November 2024
Badrinath Temple: The Kapat of Shri Badrinath Temple will open on 12 May 2024 & close on 09th November 2024

HERE IS THE YATRA PROGRAM:

Day 01: HARIDWAR/RISHIKESH/ BARKOT (170Kms & 7- 8hrs drive)
This early morning, pick up from Haridwar and drive to Barkot via Rishikesh.
Arrive Rishikesh and proceed for Yatra Registration.
After lunch, drive to Barkot via Dehradun- Mussoorie & Kempty Fall.
Arrive Barkot and check into your hotel.
Dinner & overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 02: BARKOT/ JANKICHATTI/ YAMUNOTRI/ BARKOT (50Kms drive & 6Kms Trek- One way)
After an early breakfast at hotel, drive up to Jankichatti, from where, you can start 6Kms Trek (One way) to Yamunotri.
Here one can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Here near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to Divya Shila, after taking bath in Jamunabai Kund and having “Darshan” of “Yamunaji”.

YAMUNOTRI: Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again. Yamunotri temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Yamunotri is the source of revered river Yamuna which originates from the Champasar Glacier lying 1 km ahead of the shrine situated at an elevation of 3235 mts. above sea level. The approach is extremely difficult and therefore pilgrims offer Pooja at the temple itself. Yamunotri was the home of an ancient sage Asit Muni. Yamuna is the daughter of the Sun just like Yama who is considered his son. It is believed that Yama would not torment any person at the time of death who takes a holy dip in Yamuna, his sister.

SURYA KUND: There are a Number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most important is Surya Kund.

DIVYA SHILA: A rock pillar, worshiped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.
After visiting the Yamunotri, return trek to Jankichatti.
After Lunch at Jankichatti, drive back to Barkot.
Dinner & overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 03: BARKOT/ UTTARKASHI (100Kms & 4hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Uttarkashi.
Arrive Uttarkashi and check into your hotel and Have your Lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple and evening free to walk around the market etc. 
Dinner & overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 04: UTTARKASHI/ GANGOTRI/ UTTARKASHI (100Kms & 3hrs drive one way)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Gangotri.
Arrive Gangotri and proceed for Darshan at Gangotri Temple and offer Pooja.

GANGOTRI: Gangotri temple is 18th Century temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. It is located near a sacred stone where king Bhagirathi worshipped Lord Shiva Ganga is believed to have touched earth at this spot. According to another legend, Pandavas performed the great “Deva Yagna” here to a tone the death of their kinsmen in the epic battle of Mahabharata. The temple is an exquisite 20 ft. high structure made up of white granite.
Later, drive drive back to Uttarkashi. Lunch will be provided on the way.
Dinner & overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 05: UTTARKASHI/ GUPTKASHI (235Kms & 7- 8hrs drive)
After an early breakfast at hotel, drive to Guptkashi.
En-route Lunch & sightseen of the Tehri Dam (The Hydro Electric Project).

GUPTKASHI: Located in the Northern Himalayan belt within the Mandakini river valley, which has lush green forests. A number of streams and rivulets drain into the main Mandakini River. It has salubrious climate with its elevation being around 1,319 meters (4,330 ft.) The snow sparkling view of the Chaukhamba peak is a lovely sight to behold in the morning hours from here. The valley has large magnolia trees (locally called Champa) that provide a sweet scented atmosphere to the place. Kashi Vishwanath Temple & Ardh Narishwar Temple is Attraction point.
Arrive Guptkashi in the evening and check into your hotel.
Dinner & overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 06: GUPTKASHI/ SONPRAYAG (30Kms drive) & SONPRAYAG/ KEDARNATH (15Kms Trek)
After an early breakfast at hotel, drive to Sonprayag, from where you will start your Trek to Kedarnath Ji with Packed Lunch.
OPTION: Fly by Helicopter, Hire Horses or Pony (on extra cost). Helicopter service will be subject to weather condition.

KEDARNATH : The present temple built in 8th Century A.D. by Adi Guru Shankaracharya lies adjacent to the site of an ancient temple built by Pandavas. The temple has a conical lingam – the main idol, a statue of Nandi – the celestial bull, a ‘GarbaGrah’ for worship and a man dap for assemblies of pilgrims and visitors. The temple is more than 1000 years old.

Arrive Kedarnath in the afternoon and check into your Tents (on sharing basis).  
In the evening, you can perform Pooja & Darshan at Kedarnath Ji Temple.
Dinner & overnight stay at Kedarnath (sharing accommodation)

Day 07: KEDARNATH/ SONPRAYAG (15Kms Trek) & SONPRAYAG/ GUPTKASHI (30Kms drive)
After an early breakfast, start your trek back to Sonprayag.
Arrive Sonprayag and drive to Guptkashi. Lunch on the way…
Arrive Guptkaskhi and check into hotel and rest of the day at leisure.
Dinner & overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 08: GUPTKASHI/ BADRINATH (190Kms & 6-7hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Badrinath.
En-route visit Narsingh Temple and Adi Shankracharya Samadhi at Joshimath and continue drive to Badrinath.

BADRINATH: Cradled in the twin Mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is the holiest of the four main shrines – Badrinath along the left bank of river Alaknanda with the towering Neelkantha Peaks as the splendid backdrop. Once the spot was carpeted with ‘badris’ or wild berries and hence was famous as Badri van. Legend has it, when the Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity; the earth was unable to withstand the force of its descent. Therefore, the mighty Ganga was split into 12 holy channels. Alaknanda was one of them that later became the abode of Lord Vishnu or Badrinath.

NARAD KUND: A recess in the river, near Tapt Kund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was recovered.

BRAHMA KAPAL: It is a flat platform a few yards north of the temple and on the bank of river Alaknanda. It is an important place for Shraddha ceremony or offering of pinds to ensure a heavenly place for dead ancestors or manes. It is said that offering pind here, the manes are permanently enshrined in heaven and no more pinds are to be done elsewhere ever afterwards. Legends have it that when Shiva chopped of the fifth head of Brahma, it got stuck to his trident. Lastly with the blessing of Lord Vishnu at Badrivan, the head of Brahma fell down from the trident at this place & hence the name Brahma-Kapal (head).

MANA VILLAGE: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet. The women of the village offer Choli to the deity on closing day of the temple each year.

BHIM PUL: On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge lies over the roaring Saraswati River. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.

Arrive Badrinath and check into your hotel and Have your Lunch.
In the afternoon, you can visit around Badrinath including Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bhimpul (bridge) and origin of River Saraswati at Mana village- the last village before the Tibetan border,
In the evening, visit the Temple for holy Darshan & Pooja.
Dinner & overnight stay at Badrinath.

Day 09: BADRINATH/ SRINAGAR (190Kms & 7- 8hrs drive)
This early morning, you can attend Mahaabhishek Pooja (which is optional & on extra payment).

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Srinagar.
En-route Lunch & visiting Vishnuprayag, Karnprayag, Nandprayag & Rudraprayag.
Arrive Srinagar and check into your hotel.

Day 10: SRINAGAR/ DEVPRAYAG/ HARIDWAR DROP (135Kms & 5- 6hrs drive)

This morning, pick from Delhi and drive to Rishikesh, Lunch will be provided on the way.

RISHIKESH: 24Kms from Haridwar, located in the laps of lower Himalayas, and is surrounded by scenic beauty of the hills on three sides with Holy Ganga flowing through it. The whole place is considered to be sacred as it is believed that meditation at this place leads to attainment of salvation. There are many templessome ancient, some new along the river Ganges. Rishikesh is important not only as pilgrimage centre closely associated with the Ramayana, but also as home for many important centres of Hindu religious thought and spirituality, and as a very great Yoga Centre. There are many ashrams and Yoga institutes here. Rishikesh is also the gateway and the start-off point for journeys to important religious places like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Arrive Rishikesh and check into your hotel.
In the afternoon, proceed for Yatra Registration.

  2. As per the directive given by the Government of India, all the pilgrims are required to provide proper proof of identification at the time of check-in. Valid documents like Passport & Visa together, Voters Id card, Driving License.
     
  3. Hotels / camps can deny stay if valid id proof is not provided. Company is not responsible for any ID proof related issues.
     
  4. Meals will be served as a set menu / fixed menu basis. Any items which are not in the set menu, will be charged extra at the time of consumption. Hotels decide the menu and options of items for menu.
     
  5. We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the program or expenses incurred directly or indirectly due to natural hazards, weather, breakdown of transport, landslides, closures/blockades due to political unrest or any such incidents.
     
  6. No cancellation or any refund will be made if situation is beyond our control, such as bad weather, landslide, flood, climatic conditions or any other natural disaster, fire, any embargo, acts or decisions of government, political or national crisis, road blocks, heavy snow fall, acts of terrorism or other similar causes, strikes or problems at airlines, rails, buses, hotels or transporters, labor unrest, insolvency, business exigencies, operational and technical issues, route and flight cancellations or due to which the customer could not reach the destination and which is beyond our control.
     
  7. Company is not responsible for any accident/injury/ fatal injury /theft of person or property during the course of the tour.Tour cost does not include- Doli, Pony, Horse, Helicopter ticket to Kedarnath, Laundry, Tips, Entry Fee if any and Pooja/Donations at Temples.
     
  8. Tour Company reserves the right to publish the passenger’s photograph or group photograph.
     
  9. Type of transport vehicle can be changed in case short of passengers because our intention is not to disappoint tourist or cancelling the tour.
     
  10. To make a booking, a nonrefundable deposit of Rs.5000/ is required. Once this has been received confirmation of your booking will be sent to you. The balance amount must be paid 30 days prior to the departure date of tour. Otherwise the booking will be treated as cancelled.
     
  11. Payment by Cheque / Net Banking should be in favor of “DEPENDABLE TRAVEL SOLUTIONS INDIA”, ICICI Bank Account No: 039905003314, IFSC: ICIC 0000399, Bank Branch: Suncity Sector 54, Gurgaon.
     
  12. There will be no Refund of any unutilized service in part or in full what so ever may be reason.
