Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi by flight in the evening.

Delhi is the capital of India- the largest democratic and 2nd most populous country in the world and the city has seen its rise and fall several times. New Delhi is the 8th city built by British. Delhi is famous for its beautiful monuments built by different emperors, which can be seen during the city tour.

You will be well received on your arrival at the Delhi airport and transfer to hotel.
After check- in formality, you will check in to the room.
Overnight in Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for full day city tour of Old Delhi (in the morning) & New Delhi (in the afternoon).

The city of Delhi can be divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi.

Old Delhi was earlier ruled by Muslim Sultans for about 700years and later, it became the capital of the Mughal Empire between 17th & 19th centuries. Whereas New Delhi is an imperial and modern city, built by British, when they decided to move their capital from Calcutta in 1911.

The sightseeing of Old Delhi includes a visit to Jama Masjid- India's largest mosque, Red Fort- constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Rajghat- cremation site of father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi and finally enjoy the rickshaw ride through the old streets of Chandni Chawk, the busiest market of Old Delhi.

Sightseeing of New Delhi includes a visit to India Gate- built in memory of Indian soldiers killed during the First World War. Rashtrapati Bhawan (from outside)- built in the early 20th century as the Imperial residence of the Viceroy, today the official residence of the President of India. Parliament House- an unique circular building with huge colonnades, which houses the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament. Humayun's Tomb- is the first Mughal garden tomb, which looks like the famous Taj Mahal and finally Qutab Minar- one of Delhi’s most striking monuments, which is the world's tallest brick minaret with a height of 72.5 meters.
Overnight in Delhi.

Day 03: Delhi/ Kalka/ Shimla- Train
After early breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to New Delhi Railway Station to board your train Shatabdi Express (0740/ 1145hrs) to Kalka.
Arrive Kalka @ 1115hrs and connect Toy Train (1210/ 1720hrs) to Shimla.

Kalka- Shimla Toy train is the best way to reach Shimla from Kalka. UNESCO world heritage committee had included this Toy train in the world heritage list on 2nd July 2008 but this was officially declared by UNESCO as world heritage site on 9th Nov 2008. This railway with meter gauge track was built by the British in 1903 to provide an access to their summer capital Shimla, which is the most scenic train journeys in India. The distance between Shimla and Kalka is 96Kms, which passes through 102 tunnels and 87 bridges. It connects Kalka at an altitude of 656Mtr to Shimla at an altitude of 2150Mtr from the sea level. There are around 900 curves and sharpest curve is of 48 degree. This five hour journey is one of the best train journeys operated by Indian railway.

Shimla is a very popular hill station and the capital of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is also called the Queen of the Hill Stations because of its unmatched natural beauty. Situated at an altitude of 2,200Mtr from the sea level, Shimla is one of the best tourist destinations in North India.

You will be well received on your arrival at Shimla railway station and transfer to hotel.

In the evening, stroll around Mall road, which is a prime attraction of Shimla with restaurants, clubs, banks, bars, tourist offices around it. The place becomes awesome and more romantic in the evening because of its wonderful view in the lights.

Day 04: Shimla
After Breakfast at hotel, proceed for city tour of Shimla, visiting Indian Institute Of Advanced Studies, located in the Viceregal Lodge, which was constructed in 1888. Sankat Mochan Temple- is located at Taradevi on the Kalka- Shimla National Highway and one of the most important temples of the town. Jakkhu Temple, is located at an altitude of 2455Mtr from sea leave and dedicated to Monkey God- Lord Hanuman. One can also reach this temple by hill trek through the beautiful deodar trees.

In the afternoon, you can visit Kufri if time permits.
Kufri is a small but a beautiful hill station near Shimla, known for its scenic beauty. Situated at an altitude of 2,500Mtr from sea level, Kufri is popular for its picturesque trekking & hiking trails and natural beauty. A horse ride up to Mahasu Peak is an experience not to be missed.

In the evening, walk around the Mall road for shopping etc.
Overnight in Shimla.

Day 05: Shimla/ Manali (270kms & 7-8hrs drive)
After Breakfast at hotel, drive to Manali through enchanting peaks and valleys.

Manali is a beautiful hill station situated at a height of 2050Mtr from the sea level in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The landscape is really beautiful and breathtaking. It's a beautiful hill drive and you can have a majestic view of snowcapped Himalayan peaks and the Beas River with its clear water running through this beautiful hill station. The city is abundant with deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. It is an excellent holiday destination and also known as the Queen of Hill Stations.

Arrive Manali in the evening and check in to your hotel.

Day 06: Manali
After Breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Rohtang Pass (3979Mtr), which is 51Kms from Manali and the highest point in Manali on Keylong- Leh Road. One can have an excellent view of the majesty mountains and the glaciers from here. You can have some rest here to enjoy this snowy heaven. You can even participate in snowbound activities (on direct payment). Take a sledge ride down the slopes and try your luck climbing the beautiful snow hills.

After enjoying the beauty of snow capped mountains, drive down to Solang valley, which offers a breathtaking view of glaciers and snow capped mountains. The Mountaineering Institute has installed a ski lift here for training purpose. The most common sports offered are paragliding, zorbing, horse riding and Lift to Phathru peak to view Pir Panajal ranges. You can even participate in these activities (on direct payment).

In the later afternoon, proceed for city tour of Manali, visiting Hadimba temple- dedicated to goddess Hadimba- wife of the Pandava brothers Bhim of Mahabharat. Vashist hot water spring & temple- 3Kms from town, a small village located on the left bank of river Beas, which is renowned for its hot springs and temples. Day 07: Manali/ Dharamshala (280Kms & 7-8hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Dharamshala.

Dharamshala is a beautiful hill station in the state of Himachal Pradesh, situated at an altitude from 1400Mtr to 1900Mtr from the sea level. It is divided into two parts, the lower and the upper Dharamshala. Upper Dharamshala is called Mcleodganj, the seat of His Holiness, the XIVth Dalai Lama and the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Mc Leodganj is named after David McLeod, the British Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab. It is one of the best tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh popular for its scenic & natural beauty.

You will be well received on your arrival at Dharamshala Bus station and transfer to hotel.
Arrive Hotel and check into your hotel.
Breakfast at hotel and rest of the morning at leisure.

In the afternoon, proceed for walking tour of Mcleodganj area covering, the main Buddhist temple, Tsuglagkhang, commonly known as Dalai Lama Temple. The complex houses the Namgyal Monastery, which trains monks for rituals associated with the temple. Also visit Bhagsu Nag Temple & water fall, Dal Lake, Naddi, Triund.

In the evening, walk around the Mall road, where Tibetan refugees display their crafts to sell.
Overnight in Dharamshala.

Day 08: Dharamshala
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for full day tour of Dharamshala, visiting Norbulingka Institute, Karmapa Monastery or Gyuto Monastery, Chinmaya Tapovan, Chamunda Devi, Gopalpur Zoo, Palampur Tea Garden and Baijnath Temple.

Return to hotel in the afternoon.

In the evening, walk around the Mall road for shopping etc.
Overnight in Dharamshala.

Day 09: Dharamshala/ Amritsar (250Kms & 6hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Amritsar.

Amritsar is a holy city in the state of Punjab. The city is famous for its Golden Temple. Amritsar is a combination of 2 words Amrit and Sar. Amrit means holy water and Sar means sarovar or lake, which means the "holy pool of nectar" around the Golden Temple. Amritsar is a spiritual and cultural center of the Sikh religion and famous for its unique Gurdwara (place of worship)- The Golden Temple, which was initiated by Guru Ramdaas Ji- the fourth Sikh Guru and it was completed in 1601 by his successor Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Today, it is a major pilgrimage centre for Sikh and one of the most popular tourist destinations in India.

Arrive Amritsar and check into your hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure.

In the evening, if you wish, you can visit the Golden Temple to see the night ceremony, where the holy book Guru Granth Sahib is carried to its resting place and same ceremony is repeated in the early morning, when the holy book carried to the main temple for the day.
Overnight in Amritsar.

Day 10: Amritsar/ Agra- Overnight Train
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for city tour of Amritsar, visiting the famous Golden Temple- a sacred Sikh shrine, which attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Jallianwala Bagh (Garden) is the site of the 1919 Amritsar massacre. On April 13, 1919 British Indian Army soldiers opened fire on an unarmed gathering of men, women and children at this garden and killed around 1600 people. One can visit a beautiful memorial built on the site and bullet holes can also be seen on the walls and adjoining buildings. The well inside the park is also a protected monument, in which many people jumped to save themselves.

In the later afternoon, proceed to Indo-Pak Border Wagah Border to witness the Flag retreat ceremony, which is unique and worth visiting. The border isabout 30Kms from Amritsar, where the soldiers from both the countries march in perfect drill with great enthusiasm and going through the steps of bringing down their respective national flags. The crowed from both the sides chanting slogans for their country and encouraging their soldiers amidst thunderous applause.

Return to hotel and retain the room until check out.

Late in the evening, transfer to railway station to board overnight train @ 00h30 for Agra.
Overnight on board (2 Tier AC- Bed sheets, Pillow & Blanket will be served by railway). 

Day 11: Arrive Agra
Breakfast will be served on board and arrive Agra @ 11h30.

Agra is famous for world's most beautiful monument of love- Taj Mahal. The history of Agra is much older than the times of Mughals but during the Mughal Empire, Agra had become one of the great centers of art, culture, learning and commerce. All the great monuments with magnificent work of art and craft are still flourishing in the city including leather work and pietra dura marble-inlay work. Agra is famous for its marble work like tabletops, vases and trays, inlaid with semi precious stones or gems in ornate floral designs, an imitation of those found in the Taj Mahal. Agra is also an excellent place to buy leather, as it exports shoes, bags, briefcases and jackets.

You will be well received on your arrival at Agra railway station and transfer to your hotel.

Arrive hotel and check into your room.

In the afternoon, proceed for city tour of Agra, visiting the massive Agra Fort- constructed out of red sand stone by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and containing the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Itmad-ud daulah, one of the most beautiful of Mughal tombs, stands across the river Yamuna. And finally the world famous Taj Mahal, which was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the mausoleum of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal, after her death in 1631. The Taj Mahal is recognized worldwide as a symbol of eternal love.
Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.
Overnight in Agra.

Day 12: Agra/ Varanasi (Overnight Train)
OPTION: Wake up early in the morning to visit Taj Mahal at sunrise (an extra cost).
Return to hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Fatehpur Sikri.

Fatehpur Sikri, was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar between 1569- 1585, when he shifted his capital from Agra. But after a few years, the water supply was incapable of sustaining the population and the capital was shifted back to Agra. Now it is a deserted city and also called a ghost city but it is perfectly preserved. Akbar was a very tolerant ruler and the buildings at Fatehpur Sikri blended both Islamic and Hindu architecture. One of the buildings even reflects the new religion or faith founded by Akbar Din-e-ilahiŁ, which was very short-lived. He abolished much hated poll- tax on non- muslims (Jizya) and was the first Mughal ruler to marry a Hindu (Rajut princess from Jaipur). It is a beautiful palace complex with Hindu and Muslim artistic buildings. You can visit Birbal Palace (Hindu building), Jodhbai Palace (Hindu building), Jami Masjid, Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti and Buland Darwaza etc. Buland Darwaza is also called Gate of Magnificence. It is the highest gateway in the world. One has to climb 42 steps to reach this gateway, which is 40mtr high and 35mtr wide.

In the afternoon, proceed to visit the tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar the GreatŁ, which is a magnificent gateway in white and colored marble with four elegant minarets.

In the evening, proceed to Mehtab Bagh to visit the famous Taj Mahal from across river Yamuna at sunset. This is the best place to visit Taj Mahal at sunset.
Return to hotel and retain the room until check out.

Late in the evening, transfer to railway station to board overnight train @ 21h15 for Varanasi.
Overnight on board (2 Tier AC- Bed sheets, Pillow & Blanket will be served by railway).

Day 13: Arrive Varanasi
Arrive Varanasi @ 0815hrs.

Varanasi is one of the oldest town and most important pilgrimage centre for Hindus in India. It has been a religious capital of Hinduism since the time immemorial. Situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges, Varanasi has been a center of learning and civilization for more than 2,000 years. Known to the devout as Kashi, the Luminous- the city of light, founded by Lord Shiva- Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Anyone, who dies in Varanasi attains instant enlightenment. Old age come here to seek refuge or to live out their final days. Varanasi is amongst the holiest of all tirthas (pilgrimages).

Arrive Varanasi and transfer to your hotel.
Arrive Hotel and check into your room.

In the afternoon, visit Sarnath.
Sarnath is one of the most popular Buddhist pilgrim centre. It is located 10Kms north of Varanasi. It is a very religious and cultural place for Buddhists. Lord Buddha preached his first sermon here (after gaining Enlightenment at Bodh Gaya) before his five disciples 2500 years ago. This first sermon was called Dharmachakrapravartana or Turning of the Wheel of Law. It is also birth place of the 11th Jain Tirthankar Shreyans Nathji. There is one Shiva Temple also. So Sarnath is a place of Inter religious faith.

In the evening, you will be taken to the bank of river Ganga to witness the evening artiŁ of river Ganga.
Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 14: Varanasi
Wake up Early in the morning and proceed for boat ride on the holy river Ganges to see the bathing Ghats, people taking holy bath in the river Ganges, Brahmin priest offering Puja to river Ganges, people doing meditation and Yoga. Hindus regard the Ganges as AmritaŁ- the elixir of life, which brings purity to the living and salvation to the dead. The life on the Ghats bound to an endless rituals. One can also observe cremations burning of dead bodiesŁ by the bank of river Ganges. Ganga water is so pure that one can keep it for months without any bacteria.

Later, disembark from the boat and walk through the narrow ghats to see the old temples of Varanasi.
Return to the hotel for breakfast.

Later, proceed to city tour, visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple, is the most important religious site in the city- dedicated to Lord Shiva. Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman- theMonkey God. Sankat Mochan in Hindi means reliverer from troubles. Bharat Mata Temple is dedicated to "Mother India". It was inaugurated by none other than Mahatama Gandhi- "Father of the Nation" in 1936.

In the afternoon, proceed to visit Ramnagar Fort, which is situated on the opposite bank of river Ganga. It is the ancestral home of the Maharaja of Banaras. Maharaja Balwant Singh built this fort-palace in the 18thcentury. The fort was built in red sandstone. The current Maharaj lives here. If the flag is up that means the Maharaja is present in the palace. The Ramnagar fort houses a museum displaying the Royal collection which includes vintage Cars, Royal palkies, an armory of swords and old guns, ivory work and antique clocks is worth visiting.
Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 15: Varanasi/ Delhi/ Fly & Delhi/ Fly Back Home
Breakfast at hotel and rest of the morning at leisure for shopping etc.

In the afternoon, you will you will be transferred to airport to board your flight to Delhi.
