Uttarakhand is known as “Devbhoomi” or “Land of Gods” because of its many holy places & temples. Uttarakhand is also known for its Char Dham Yatra, which includes four Uttarakhand pilgrimage centers, called Char Dham in Hindi: Badrinath Temple (Dedicated to Lord Bishnu), Kedarnath Temple (Dedicated to Lord Shiva), Gangotri Temple (Dedicated to Holy river Ganga ) and Yamunotri Temple (Dedicated to Holy river Yamuna). Uttarakhand is very sacred for the Hindus as well as the Sikhs. Many Sikhs come to visit their holy place Hemkund Sahib from all around the world. Uttarakhand is also famous for its popular Hill Stations that cannot be missed during your vacation in the state. The major hill stations in Uttarakhand include Mussoorie, Nainital, Dhanaulti, Kausani, Almora, Mukteshwar, Ranikhet, Lansdowne, Pauri, Khirsu, Binsar etc. The elevation level of Uttarakhand varies from 1500 to 5000 meters above sea level and the highest point in Uttarakhand is Nanda Devi peak (7817Mtrs).

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi by International flight in the evening.

Delhi, the city is acclaimed for being the cultural capital of India. The spectacular architecture of Delhi city is evident through its antique monuments. This city witnesses an interesting blend of diverse cultures (some even 5000 years old). Delhi has always had a mysterious eternity, the city having witnessed empires rise to glory and fall to ashes. The contemporary Delhi is a culmination of seven cities built by different emperors. Ruins of this ancient city are found even today and now converted to some major tourist attractions, which can be seen during city tours.

You will be well received on your arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel.

You will be welcomed at the hotel with a glass of welcome drink. After check- in formality, you will check in to the room.

Day 2: Delhi
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for full day city tour of Old Delhi (in the morning) & New Delhi (in the afternoon).

The city of Delhi can broadly be divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Delhi’s Muslim rulers notably the Mughals between 17th & 19th centuries. New Delhi on the other hand is referred to as the IMPERIAL city when the British decided to move their capital from Calcutta in 1911.

The sightseeing of Old Delhi includes a visit to Jama Masjid which is India's largest mosque, built of red sandstone and white marble in the middle of the 17th century. Red Fort, a 17th century fort complex constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the walled city of Old Delhi, Rajghat, cremation site of father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi) and rickshaw ride through the streets of Chandni Chawk (Silver Street), once the imperial avenue down which Shah Jehan rode at the head of lavish cavalcades, is today bustling with shops, stalls and silversmiths' ateliers.

Sightseeing of New Delhi includes a visit to India Gate, built in memory of Indian soldiers killed during the First World War. Drive pass Rashtrapati Bhawan, built in the early 20th century as the Imperial residence of the Viceroy is today the official residence of the President of India and Parliament House, an unique circular building with huge colonnades, houses the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament. Humayun's Tomb is the first Mughal garden tomb. Visitors are immediately struck by the tomb's resemblance to its more famous cousin - the Taj Mahal - with its four grand gateways, octagonal base-plan, soaring niche-shaped arches, lofty double domes and the symmetrical garden with its central canal. And finally Qutab Minar, one of Delhi’s most striking monuments, which is the world's tallest brick minaret with a height of 72.5 meters.

Day 3: Delhi/ Mussoorie (280Kms & 7hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Mussoorie.

Mussoorie, Popularly known as the Queen of Hill stations, is 34kms from Dehradun (capital city of Uttarakhand) and situated at an altitude of 2003mts in the Garhwal hills of Uttarakhand. Mussoorie is one the beautiful hill stations in India and the most frequently visited. It provides excellent respite to people who want relief from the hot sultry conditions of the plains, especially since it is close enough to the capital to make just weekend trip. In 1820, Captain Young of the British army was influenced by the beauty of this place and made it his residence. The name, Mussoorie is derived from plants of 'Mussoorie' which were found in abundance here. After its discovery, this hill station gradually developed as a centre of education, business, tourism and beauty.

Arrive Mussoorie and check in to your hotel. In the evening, walk around the famous Mall Road.

Day 4: Mussoorie
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for city tour of Mussoorie, visiting Gun Hill- enjoy a Ropeway ride to the second highest peak of Mussoorie. The Ropeway distance is only 400mtrs and and the sheer thrill of the ride is memorable. It offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri group etc. Municipal Garden- A picnic spot having a beautiful garden and an artificial mini lake with boating facilities. Childer's Lodge- Highest Peak of Mussoorie near Lal Tibba. Snow view from this spot is exhilarating. One can also visit Jharipani Fall, Bhatta Fall, Kempty Fall & Mussoorie Lake etc.

Day 5: Mussoorie/ Dhanaulti (25Kms & 1hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Dhanaulti.
Dhanaulti is a misty mountain retreat near Mussoorie lies at an altitude of 2286mtrs and has a serene beauty that will win you over. Dhanaulti is a blissfully secluded hill station as compared to Mussoorie. Tucked away in the midst of deep forests of deodar, oak, conifer, rhododendron and flame of the forest, Dhanaulti is a woody paradise that makes you forget where you are.

Arrive Dhanaulti and check in to your hotel.

Later, proceed for tour of Dhanaulti, visiting Eco Park, which was ddeveloped recently ECO Park, houses Protected patch of small forest containing Deodar Trees. Surkhanda Devi Temple, on the road towards Chamba, which is famous for its Ganga Dasahra fair in autumn. Himalayan Weavers, located on Mussoorie-Dhanaulti Road is Himalayan Weavers which produces hand-woven shawls, stoles, scarves and throws using only natural dyes and wool, and pashmina. Their aim is to produce high quality handloom products, popularize the use of environmentally friendly natural dyes and provide a market for craft products made in the Himalayan region. Aaloo Khet (Potato Farm), a Government Potato Farm, also popular as sunrise view point.

Day 6: Dhanaulti/ Haridwar (75Kms & 2-3hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Haridwar.

Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand has the eminence of being one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations of India. The holy town occupies a picturesque location on the banks of River Ganga, also referred to as 'Mother Ganga' by the Hindu community. Not only from across the country but from across the world, devotees and travelers arrived here to seek spirituality. The name 'Haridwar' means 'Gateway to God'. Haridwar is more popular for 'Kumbh Mela', the largest fair in human history, which is held here at the interval of every 12 years.

Arrive Haridwar and check in to your hotel.
In the afternoon, proceed for city tour of Haridwar, visiting the famous Har Ki Pauri, this ghat is one of the most sacred ghats in India. Mansa Devi Temple- ssituated at the top of Bilwa Parwat, the temple of Goddess Mansa Devi, literally meaning the Goddess who fulfills desires (Mansa), is a popular tourist destination, especially because of the cable cars, which offer a picturesque view of the entire city on the top of the hill etc. Also visit Daksheswara Mahadev Temple. According to Hindu texts, King Daksha Prajapati, father of Dakshayani, Lord Shiva's first wife, performed a yagna, to which he deliberately did not invite Lord Shiva. When he arrived uninvited, he was insulted by the king, seeing which Sati felt infuriated and self-immolated herself in the yagna kund. King Daksha was later killed by the demon Virabhadra, born out of Shiva's anger. Later the king was brought to life and given a goat's head by Shiva. Daksha Mahadev temple is a tribute to this legend.

In the evening, witness the arti of holy Ganges at Har Ki Pauri.

Day 7: Haridwar/ Rishikesh (25Kms & 1-2hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Rishikesh.

Rishikesh is a scenic town located on the banks of river Ganges and is an important access point to the famous pilgrim spots of the Himalayas such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The various spiritual centers, yogic ashrams located here have made this town the “world capital of Yoga”. The international tourists also drop in here in large numbers seeking spiritual enlightenment and also to enjoy the natural treasures of this place.

Arrive Rishikesh and check in to your hotel.
Later, proceed for city tour of Rishikesh, visiting Lakshman Jhula, Bharat Mandir, Triveni Ghat, Rishikund, Geeta Bhawan, Swarg Ashram and Trayambakeshwar Temple.

In the evening, witness the evening arti of holy Ganges at Parmarth Niketan.

Day 8: Rishikesh/ Corbett National Park (220Kms & 6-7hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Corbett National Park.

Located in the foothills of the Himalayas is the majestic Corbett National Park in the state of Uttarakhand. Home to a variety of flora and fauna, it is famous for its wild population of Tigers, Leopards and Elephants. Corbett National Park was established in 1936, as the Hailey National Park. India's first national park and the first sanctuary to come under Project Tiger, Corbett supports a variety of vegetation making it the ideal habitat for the Tiger and its prey. Once a popular hunting ground of the British, this park (area: 1318.54 sq. km. including 520 sq. km. of core area of and 797.72 sq. km. of buffer area) was named in honor of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer who most of his years in this area and contributed in setting up the this park.

In the evening, proceed for 1st Jeep safari into Corbett National Park.

Day 9: Corbett National Park
Early morning, proceed for 2nd jeep safari into Corbett National Park.
Return to hotel for breakfast and rest of the morning at leisure.

Day 10: Corbett National Park/ Ranikhet (95Kms & 3-4hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Ranikhet.

Ranikhet is situated at an altitude of 1829mtrs, offers an interesting mix of hill & military cultures. Ranikhet, which literally means 'The Queen's Field', was named after the wife of a 12th century ruler, Sudhar Deve. According to legends, the queen, in the course of a journey came by this spot & was so enchanted by it that she settled down here. Ranikhet has forest of oak & pine and is a fine place to enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayas. It is an ideal holiday destination for nature lovers.

Arrive Ranikhet and check in to your hotel.
Later, proceed for city tour of Ranikhet visiting, Jhula Devi Temple; apart from the usual crowd of devotees that throng the place, a leopard visits the temple once a month. However, local legend asserts that only the high priest of the shrine can see the feline animal. Temple of Lord Rama - dedicated to the hero of the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Chaubatia. Originally a sanatorium for British troops, it now houses the Government Fruit Garden and Research Station that grows no less than 200 varieties of fruit. Uphat- the site for one of the highest golf courses in India. Kalika Temple and a Forest Nursery that is run by the government.

Day 11: Ranikhet/ Kausani (75Kms & 3hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Kausani.

Nestling amongst thick, dense pine forests, atop a narrow ridge, and separated from the towering mountains of the Nanda Devi range by low medium mountains, Kausani commands an incredible view of 300kms of silvery majesty of the Himalayan range. Praised by poets and philosophers, this scenic spot offers sightseeing, history and complete relaxation. Gandhiji stayed here at the Anashakti Ashram in 1929 and was inspired by the superb Himalayan panorama and the Hindi poet laureate Sumitra Nandan Pant grew up here.

Arrive Kausani and check in to your hotel.
Later, proceed for city tour of Kausani visiting, Anasshakti Ashram- it is a popular landmark of Kausani where Mahatma Ghandhi stayed for a few days. He wrote his commentary of Anashakti Yog at this Ashram. Pant Museum- the birth place of a famous Hindi literature poet, Pant Museum is a great place for literature lovers. Lakshmi Ashram- as has been rightly commented, “a noble life is one dedicated to noble work”, the Lakshmi Ashram is such an organization working for a noble cause. This place is dedicated to social service, the upliftment of women. The surroundings of the ashram are covered by the dense pine forest.

Day 12: Kausani- Excursion to Bageshwar & Baijnath (55Kms & 2-3hrs drive one way)
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for full day excursion to Bageshwar & Baijnath.

Bageshwar is a Hindi word, which means Bag (Tiger) and Ishwar (God), which is a name of Lord Siva. It is also the administrative headquarters of Bageshwar district. Bageshwar is situated on the confluence of river|Saryu and Gomti. There are many old temples dating back to 10th century AD. Among them, Baijnath temple and Bagnath temples are the most important. The Bagnath temple is situated in the middle of the town just across the confluence of Saryu and Gomti. Chandika and Neeleshwar temples are other important temples in the district. These are on the top of the city (hills). Gives a nice glimpse of the city from these temples. Other important shrines in and around Bageshwar are - Ram Ghat temple, Agnikund temple, Kukuda Mai temple, Shitla Devi temple, Gopeshwar Dham, Golu temple and Praktishwar Mahadev etc.

Baijnath has remained the capital of Katyuri Kings, who ruled the area from 7th-11th century AD., then it was known as Kartikeyapura and lies in the centre of 'Katyur' valley. There is a famous Baijnath Mandir dedicated to Lord Shiva on the bank of the river which is said to have been built by the Kumaon Katyuri king in around 1150 A.D. and it was Capital of the Katyuri dynasty of kings who ruled Uttaranchal during 12th and 13th century, Baijnath was once known as Kartikyapura. One of the most important places to visit in Baijnath is the historically and religiously significant Baijnath Temple constructed in the twelfth century. The temple holds significance because, according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga.

Day 13: Kausani/ Almora/ Binsar (50Kms & 3hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Binsar. On the way, visit Almora.

Almora is a hill station in Uttarakhand State. Almora was the seat of power of the Chand Dynasty who ruled the land of Kumaon for almost one thousand years. An interesting fact about the discovery of Almora is that unlike other hill stations, it was not discovered and developed by the British. The Katyuri Dynasty ruled the region around Almora from the 9th century AD, till it made way for the Chand dynasty. Raja Balo Kalyan Chand made Almora as his new capital in 1560 AD, when he transferred his capital from Champawat to Almora. The Chands occupied Almora till the 19th century AD. The rivers Kosi and Suyal flow around Almora providing a natural barrier. There is an interesting local legend about the discovery of Almora. Raja Kalyan Chand, the ruler of the Chand Dynasty was riding on the horseshoe shaped ridge in the pursuit of a prey. The hunted quarry protected its life by taking refuge behind the thick bushes of Kilmora, a local wild Barberry bush and revealed the place to the king. The story might not be corroborated by any literary or archaeological evidences but continues to be told by the locals. The Gorkhas captured Almora in 1790 AD and finally British took it over from the Gorkhas after the Gorkha wars of 1814-1815.

Visit Almora and drive continue to Binsar.

Binsar, located in the serene and heavenly Kumaon hills, lies 25kilometers north-east of the town of Almora. Binsar is situated in the midst of a forest reserve known as the ‘Binsar Reserve’ which has been declared as a wildlife sanctuary. Binsar is perched on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills and completely surrounded by dense forests. Oak, rhododendron, pine and deodar grow in amazing abundance. The forests of Himalayan oak and rhododendron are excellent for trekking. The chief attraction of Binsar is the majestic view of the Himalayas - a 300 kms, stretch on famous peaks which includes Kedarnath, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Nanda Kot and Panchchuli.

Day 14: Binsar
After breakfast at hotel, proceed for jungle safari inside Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary.

The sanctuary covers an area of 45.59 square kilometres and has a wide variety of animals and birds residing in it. It is believed that over 200 varieties of birds are found in Binsar along with animals like deer, leopards, Himalayan bears, monkeys, foxes, flying squirrels and many others, making it a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts. People from all across the country as well as abroad visit Binsar to experience nature and wildlife. With so many varieties of birds, bird watching is one of the most popular activities here.

In the afternoon, proceed for village tour to see the local houses and temples. The famous 16th century temple is Bineshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kasar Devi Temple is another famous temple here dedicated to Goddess Kasar Devi.

Day 15: Binsar/ Nainital (96Kms & 4hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Nainital.

Nainital, is the popular summer retreat of India, which attracts innumerable tourists during the summer heat. The hill resort is indeed a pleasure. The gorgeous greens and the majestic mountains add to the beauty of the hill resort. The small town of Nainital is dotted with cottages, villas and bungalows. Situated at an altitude of 1,938mtr the hill resort of Nainital offers several places of interest to the tourists. The hill resort is believed to have derived its name from the goddess Naina. There is a temple dedicated to the goddess Naina too in Nainital. Other legend claims that the Naini Lake in Nainital lends its name to the hill resort. The natural beauty and the charm of the scenic spots besides the cool weather make Nainital the place to be in during the summers. Nainital is set in two parts, Tallital and Mallital, with the lake separating them. Tallital is the southern side of the lake, while Mallital consists of the northern upper reaches. The town was destroyed during the Landslip of 1880, and later rebuilt by the British. It is renowned for its lake, bird's-eye views and prestigious educational institutions.

Arrive Nainital and check in to your hotel.
In the afternoon, proceed to visit Naina Devi Temple, was constructed in the 15th Century during the Kushan reign. Also visit Naina Lake, is set amidst seven mountains that surround this stagnant water pool and high peaks that almost touch the sky. You can also do boating here, which is a must.

In the evening, stroll around Mall Road for shopping etc.

Day 16: Nainital
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Naina Peak or China Peak- Naina peak is the highest peak of the town, at an altitude of 2611 mts. and at a distance of 6Kms from the town. It commands an entrancing view of sparkling snow laden Himalayas from Bandar Punch in west to Api and Nari peaks of Nepal in the east, a full Himalayan range in one side and a bird’s eye view of the lake city of Nainital in its full grandeur on the other. With a pair of binoculars a good panorama of the tract surrounding Nainital is obtained. Pony or Horses can be hired to visit this peak either from Snow view or from Mallital.

Return to Nainital and proceed to other places of the city, visiting St. John in the Wilderness, Mallital- is a charming church was named and founded by the Bishop of Calcutta. Tiffin Top, Aryapatta Hill @ an altitude of 2292mtr. Sariyatal, is a stream on Kaladhungi Road. The water in the stream is extremely cold but is a nice place to spend some time.

In the evening, stroll around Mall for shopping etc. There are two main shopping areas, The Mall and Barra Bazaar. Traditional buys have included shawls, scarves, cardigans and local jams. You can also buy wooden handicrafts which are good and cheap option for souvenirs.

Day 17: Nainital/ Delhi (315Kms & 7hrs drive)
After breakfast at hotel, drive towards Delhi.
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel, where a room is booked for Day Use.
After Farewell Dinner, you will be transferred to Delhi International airport to board your flight back home.
