River Rafting TourDuration : 04 Nights/05 Days Destinations : Delhi – Haridwar – Campsite – Rishikesh – Delhi Day 1 : Arrive DelhiArrive Delhi by International flight in the evening. Delhi, the city is acclaimed for being the cultural capital of India. The spectacular architecture of Delhi city is evident through its antique monuments. This city witnesses an interesting blend of diverse cultures (some even 5000 years old). Delhi has always had a mysterious eternity, the city having witnessed empires rise to glory and fall to ashes. The contemporary Delhi is a culmination of seven cities built by different emperors. Ruins of this ancient city are found even today and now converted to some major tourist attractions, which can be seen during city tours. You will be well received on your arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel. Traditional welcome upon your arrival at hotel with arti, tikka, garlanding & welcome drink. After check- in formality, you will check in to the room. OPTION : Midnight snacks to be served on arrival. Overnight in Delhi. Day 2 : DelhiBuffet Breakfast at hotel. Later, proceed for full day city tour of Old Delhi (in the morning) & New Delhi (in the afternoon). The city of Delhi can broadly be divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Delhi’s Muslim rulers notably the Mughals between 17th & 19th centuries. New Delhi on the other hand is referred to as the IMPERIAL city when the British decided to move their capital from Calcutta in 1911. The sightseeing of Old Delhi includes a visit to Jama Masjid which is India's largest mosque, built of red sandstone and white marble in the middle of the 17th century. Red Fort, a 17th century fort complex constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the walled city of Old Delhi, Rajghat, cremation site of father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi) and rickshaw rally through the streets of Chandni Chawk (Silver Street), once the imperial avenue down which Shah Jehan rode at the head of lavish cavalcades, is today bustling with shops, stalls and silversmiths' ateliers. Lunch at local restaurant (Indian cuisine). Sightseeing of New Delhi includes a visit to India Gate, built in memory of Indian soldiers killed during the First World War. Drive pass Rashtrapati Bhawan, built in the early 20th century as the Imperial residence of the Viceroy is today the official residence of the President of India and Parliament House, an unique circular building with huge colonnades, houses the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament. Humayun's Tomb is the first Mughal garden tomb. Visitors are immediately struck by the tomb's resemblance to its more famous cousin - the Taj Mahal - with its four grand gateways, octagonal base-plan, soaring niche-shaped arches, lofty double domes and the symmetrical garden with its central canal. And finally Qutab Minar, one of Delhi’s most striking monuments, which is the world's tallest brick minaret with a height of 72.5 meters. Buffet Dinner at hotel’s restaurant. Overnight in Delhi. Day 3 : Delhi/ Haridwar/ Camp (210Kms & 4hrs drive)Tea/ Coffee at hotel with cookies. Later, transfer to New Delhi railway station to board train- Shatabdi Express (06h50/ 11h25) to Haridwar. Breakfast will be served on board by Indian Railways. Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand has the eminence of being one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations of India. The holy town occupies a picturesque location on the banks of River Ganga, also referred to as 'Mother Ganga' by the Hindu community. Not only from across the country but from across the world, devotees and travelers arrived here to seek spirituality. The name 'Haridwar' means 'Gateway to God'. Haridwar is more popular for 'Kumbh Mela', the largest fair in human history, which is held here at the interval of every 12 years. Arrive Haridwar and transfer to camping site (35Kms & 1hrs drive) near Rishikesh. The Beach camp is located on a beautiful beach on the banks of the Holy Ganges nestled in the midst of the virgin forests on the Great Himalayan foothills. The Ganga originates in the Himalayas after the confluence of six rivers- Alaknanda meets Dhauliganga at Vishnuprayag, Nandakini at Nandprayag, Pindar at Karnaprayag, Mandakini at Rudraprayag and finally Bhagirathi at Devaprayag. From here onwards, the river becomes as Ganga or Ganges. Known as the white water capital of India, the Ganga near Shivpuri, (14kms from Rishikesh in the state of Uttarakhand) offers an ideal location for white water river rafting. Arrive at the campsite and check in to your tents. You will be served with hot buffet lunch and then spend some free time to explore the area or enjoy camp activities & games. In the afternoon, proceed for 1st round of River Rafting from campsite and carry on down to Rishikesh (12kms stretch). Hit some of the enjoyable rapids on the Ganga i.e. Initiation, Double Trouble, Hilton and Terminator. One can try Body Surfing and Cliff Jumping in this section. In the later part, we float past temples and ashrams and Ghats, enjoying the riverbank life along the Ganga. The rafting will be finish at Rishikesh. Arrive Rishikesh and proceed to witness the evening arti of holy Ganges at Parmarth Niketan. Return to Rishkesh after arti. Dinner will be served by the beach with bonfire. Overnight in the campsite. Day 4 : Campsite/ Rishikesh/ DelhiAfter breakfast at campsite, you will be transferred to Shivpuri, from where you will start 2nd round of rafting and carry down towards campsite. The rafting will terminate at campsite. Spend some free time to explore the area or enjoy camp activities & games. Later, after lunch at campsite, transfer to Haridwar railway station to board Shatabdi Express (18h13/ 22h45) to Delhi. You will be well received at Delhi railway station and transfer to hotel. Arrive hotel and check in to your room. Overnight in Delhi. Day 5 : Delhi/ Fly out Buffet Breakfast at hotel.
